Did you know? You can type ASCII characters into any application. Press and hold the Left-Alt key, then using the numeric keypad, type the four-digit decimal number for the ASCII character you want, then release the Left-Alt key. For example, to type è, press and hold Left-Alt, then type 0232 on the numeric keypad. When you release the Left-Alt key, è will be typed.

Thats fine but can u tell me the ASCII char of f5 in the keyboard
Hi Ramesh,
F5 does not generate an ASCII character. However, for .NET, F5 does generate a Keys enumeration code of Keys.F5.
you say: “type the four-digit decimal number for the ASCII character”
How about typing only the three-digit decimal number, instead for example typing 0232 when i type 232 the character is another one, is different from the table you ve posted. I have found other chars in http://www.asciitable.com/ since decimal number 128.
Holding ALT while typing only 3 numbers produces a different set of characters. I’m unsure which character set is generated by that method, but you can see the list here:
http://www.forlang.wsu.edu/help/keyboards.asp
It should be noted that this is NOT the second half of the ascii table, but the characters from the Windows-1252 codepage.
Pure ASCII contains only characters with a value of 0 to 127.
Can anyone tell me how to use an ascii character in chat e.g. Skype? Nothing happens at all when I hold down the Alt key and type a number.
